I absolutely love the beautiful scenery of freshly fallen snow. It’s a picturesque white blanket covering everything in the city and you just want to jump in and have a snow fight. Well… until you think twice about how cold and wet you’d end up being.. Is 10 min of joyful bliss worth the biting cold and your numb fingers?
Winter may be beautiful, but it comes with draw backs like oh I don’t know freezing your but off.. I HATE being cold.. In Sweden we have a saying there isn’t any bad weather only bad clothing, well that is true to some extent.. I might dress appropriate but somehow I always end up cold and miserable 🙂
There’s some other draw backs to winter and that’s the fact that my hair gets super dry, brittle and I have to do everything to protect it. Same goes with my skin, I have dry skin and at winter I get uber dry skin and rashes…
A good thing to do is to exchange your lighter summer oils for heavier oils and butters like shea butter, cocoa butter, rosehip oil and avocado oil.
To further take care and save your skin from the harsh winter conditions is to make your own DIY coffee and rosehip body scrub.
The coffee and salt in the recipe will exfoliate your skin. The coconut and rosehip oil is packed with essential fatty acids, vitamin E, vitamin C and B-carotene, hence this scrub will not only cleanse your skin but it will also moisturise and nourish it.
DIY Coffee + Rosehip Body Scrub

2. Add the salts and mix
3. Add the coffee and mix
4. Put the mixture in an air tight jar
How to use your Coffee + Rosehip body scrub:
Massage into damp skin whilst in shower. Go easy when scrubbing, especially on sensitive skin. Use with caution coconut oil will make your shower or tub slippery be sure to run extra hot water to help it rinse down the drain.
As we haven’t used any preservatives make sure you don’t put any water in the body scrub, added water can lead to the mix being infected with microbes, grow mold or bacteria- we don’t want that to happen.
Keep in fridge and use within 3-4 weeks, before using, allow the scrub to stand at room temperature for a good 10 minutes so that the formula softens a bit.
